Teen Relationship Advice

Many believe that teenage relationships are short-lived, not influential and shallow. However, studies have found that young adults are more vulnerable and emotional in relationships, especially teenage boys. Teenage boys often have difficulty expressing their feelings and emotions, thus their girlfriends often get the wrong impression. Here is a bit of advice on romantic relationships for teens.

Are You in Love?

The answer to this question is tricky and may differ from one person to person.  One person’s infatuation may be love for another person and vice versa. Some signs that you are truly in love are being honest to your boyfriend or girlfriend, trusting your partner, feeling really good when you are with him/her, whatever the situation may be. If you are really in love, you’ll find that your main priority is to make your partner happy and fulfill his/her wishes, rather than yours. True love will become stronger with time without compromising who you are as a person.

Partner and Parents

There may be times when your parents are against your relationship or don’t like the person that you love. In such case, you have to decide whether you want to take a step back or continue with your relationship. It is a good idea to discuss with your parents the reasons why they don’t your partner before you take any drastic or crucial decision. Maybe your parents see something bad in your partner which you didn’t know or have not look at previously and their interpretation can help you to evaluate your relationship. You should consider all the pros and cons rationally before making your decision about whether to pursue your relationship further.

Understanding Jealousy

You need to understand that little jealousy is normal in every relationship. But too much jealousy in your relationship can simply ruin things. When faced with jealousy in your relationship you need to look at the situation from your partner’s perspective as the two of you discuss why you or they feel this way. If there is a strong faith and trust between you and your partner there will be no place for lasting jealousy in your relationship.
