- Avoid being alone for long periods of time after your break up. Your mind will linger on your ex and this will make you feel worse. Try to be with your friends or family members to distract yourself.
- Remove or throw all the things away that remind you of your ex. This includes books, cards, gifts, etc. that your ex-boyfriend gave to you. Keeping these things will simply bring back all the memories of him so it is better to get rid of them and start fresh.
- Try to keep yourself busy. By staying busy you won’t have a chance to think about your ex. Take up some new class or hobbies and spend more time with family and friends.
- Exercising is another great way to make you forget your ex-boyfriend. Exercise will not only make you forget your past relationship, it will also keep you in good shape and feeling better.
- Resist the urge to email or call him. If possible delete his number from your cell phone or change your number, so that you may not receive any messages, texts or calls from him again as well as won’tbe tempted to reach out to him.
